New submission from Bill Crawford <billcrawford1970 at gmail.com>:
The /etc/yum.repos.d/*.repo are in a similar enough format to the *.channel
config files that I suspect reading them in as "rpm-md" channels would be fairly
easy.
I mention this because after installing smart, I found that my default repos
(the fedora development and extras-development trees) weren't included, and had
to copy them .. the format change was easy enough to make (replace $basearch and
$releasever etc, use a baseurl= instead of mirrorlist=)
Obviously this *is* soluble by just adding the relevant config (which I've done)
so this is very much a wish list item, not a high priority.
However, recognising something like $basearch / $releasever in *.channel would
be nice (e.g. some of the channels that appeared by default were for fc3,
allowing $releasever to be included in the .channel would have perhaps made life
a bit easier).
