Can you please be more explicit?  What area needs attention?

If you're comparing the parsing speed of Smart with yum, don't
do it. yum doesn't do the work smart does while processing the
metadata information.

rpm-md is an interesting alternative for being adopted in many
projects, but it has a very bad implementation if you want to
quickly map the filelist to and from the packages list. Unlike
yum, Smart considers the whole dependency graph to take a
decision, and that means understanding what are the available
provided files, and who is providing them.

If that's not what you mean, please speak clearly so that we
can figure it out.
