[issue34] rpm-md use is VERY SLOW

i am still looking into this problem, and am thinking it has to do with improper
channels. i had added a channel called "everything" back from when i was
figuring out how to add channels. when i started adding rpm-md channels is when
i started seeing this problem. i have since removed the improper channels and
smart seems to be fine again.
