[issue34] rpm-md use is VERY SLOW

i am wondering if this is related to issue 12. i have problems if i have
multiple packages to install. i have eliminated the fact that its bad rpm's. it
seems to occur when it wants to execute /sbin/SuSeconfig and ldconfig (for me).
trying to go to installing another rpm and it just hangs. i have also seen where
it installs an rpm, then goes to clean it, and hangs.
