Hello,

>From the description of your problem it looks like you've lost
your system channel. The latest version of Smart will already
add them automatically if the channel type is detected on
your system, so I assume you're not using it.

You can easily add that channel back with a command like:

  smart channel --add rpm-sys type=rpm-sys name="RPM Database"

That used to be a FAQ. Even though the latest version should
fix that issue completely, it might be worth mentioning it
in a FAQ document for reference and for users of old versions.
