I'm not sure if that's what you mean, but the latest Smart has
a 'detectsys.py' plugin which will automatically detect and
register system channels, so theoretically adding them on
distro.py wouldn't even be needed.

Anyway, examples of distro.py files with different kinds of
settings would be very nice indeed.
