Each distro has it's own policy on automatic updates of the kernel.
SUSE, for instance, allows automatic update (smart update kernel), while
Mandriva doesn't (smart install kernel-2.6.x-x). To check what kind of
policy Fedora uses, please provide output of the following commands:

uname -r

rpm -qa | grep kernel | xargs rpm -q --qf "%{NAME} / %{VERSION} /
%{RELEASE}\n"

smart info kernel* (output to txt, and attached)

And a copy of your /usr/lib/smart/distro.py

You can send me those info to my personal e-mail (look at the sig), so
we won't inflate the list with unecessary data. :)
