[issue82] Conflicting packages (esp. libraries) depended on by lots of packages freeze Smart upgrade computation

Luca Barbieri <elbion at gmail.com> added the comment:
A possible test bed is Fedora Development: they sometimes upload a new library
rpm to the development release with the same package name but a different soname
(e.g. openssl): this causes a conflict between 3rd-party repositories and
packages that are still not upgraded that need the old soname and new packages
that need the new soname.
[Of course, Smart cannot fix this easily but at least it shouldn't hang; it
would be even better to detect the situation and address the user appropriately,
and the optimal thing would be to propose renaming rpms (but this would
obviously be a long-term feature)]
