Please add an quiet so option.  For example to run 'smart' from a   
cronjob, without having all those progress markers showup in the   
cronjob's email:   
   
linux:~ # smart -q update     
error: no such option: -q     
     
linux:~ # smart --quite update     
error: no such option: --quite     
     
Or with multiple quiet levels;  
# smart -q  
# smart -qq etc
