That's right: you said the assumption was wrong, viz. that it could be allowed
(i.e. not a conflict) if the md5sum was the same: it isn't so smart-gui has the bug.

Still, I'll go along with your request and reproduce with smart (nogui). I'll be
back later.

But that you don't have a Mandriva system is not a good argument: smart is
advertised to be for various distros incl. Mandriva.
