ksmarttray: keep in contrib or split out into own tarball?

Hi,

some time ago (~0.35 ?) it was suggested to break out ksmarttray of
smart's distribution and place it into it's own tarball.

The reasons for doing so are that ksmarttray is rather stable (only
recently there was a patch since early 0.3x days), and that it carries
a huge bag of build requirements.

Would that still make sense, or is it better left in smart's tarball?
I'm not really pushing towards either, just want to have a mid term
packaging plan :)
