No, the repository metadata is broken.
Smart always runs into that issue because it parses the XML files before
it does the "update".
Hence you need to first remove those files manually, then run "smart
update" again:
rm /var/lib/smart/channels/updates-*
(as root)
Then you can do a "smart update" to get the repository metadata (which
is probably fixed now ;))
