Look at the URL smart is trying to download:
http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/suser-guru/rpm/10.1/RPMS/i686/smart-ksmarttray-0.42-14.guru.suse100.i686.rpm

The package is for 10.0, and the release signature is ".suse100.", which
is correct.

But the repository URL is wrong: .../rpm/10.1/...

This was a bug caused by an inofficial patch, it's fixed in 0.42-14

As you cannot use smart to upgrade, do it "manually":
rpm -Uvh \
ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/suser-guru/smart/repo/10.0/i686/smart-*-14.guru.suse100.i686.rpm

cheers
