If the fix removed a security issue I guess it would make its way out
immediately. In this case it is "just" hindering sane usage of smart,
so the motivation to issue an update only for this is probably low.

I just filed a bug report, the solution must be credited to Daniel
Walsh, the selinux maintainer at Red Hat/Fedora.
