no gui today

Hi,

at the moment I use smart-0.49.1-40.guru.suse100 on my SUSE 10.0 x86_64. 
Last week I was able to call "smart --gui" and I got the gui. Today I get

error: System has no support for gtk python interface

As far as I can see (I do not know Python) this comes from 
/usr/lib64/python2.4/site-packages/smart/interfaces/gtk/__init__.py, where 
I find

try:
     import pygtk
     pygtk.require("2.0")
     import gtk
except ImportError:

and so on. I think pygtk is (on my machine) included in the package 
python-gnome-extras, and I installed version 2.11.3-3. For gtk, I get 
gtk-1.2.10-910.

What am I missing? How do I get my gui working again?
