[issue376] add support for udev

I noticed that media.py seems to read from fstab and uses mount and umount. In
most distributions today, they seem to use udev and sysfs. So for smart to
detect local channels, udev support needs to be added. I might be willing to try
my hand at it, but I have a lot to learn so I get this right.
