Smart 1.4 / Trunk Problem

If it works OK with Smart 1.3 but stalls/hangs with Smart 1.4,
then it could be something regarding the sorting/transaction...
(merged trunk revisions 965 and 966, from earlier on 2010-06-20)
Can you confirm ?
