Python 2.4 is still out of date too, and RHEL4 will be around for  
years...
So for now the requirement is "python 2.3 or later", with 2.5 being  
norm.

The same goes for GTK+, which will be updated with some 2.16 features  
but
will still stay compatible with the "pygtk 2.4 or later" gui  
requirement.
