PackageKit has some backend requirements that
it could be useful for Smart to implement...
Typically these would require one implementation
per package type, but the interface is generic.

The first is "filtering", which is for selecting
things such as development packages and so on:

http://www.packagekit.org/gtk-doc/introduction-ideas-filters.html

The second is "groups", which is for selecting
high-level groups that don't need to be in packages:

http://www.packagekit.org/gtk-doc/introduction-group-type.html

These *could* be done in the Smart backend for PK,
but are probably better off being in Smart itself ?
They could of course be of value for the regular
Smart interface as well, not only for PackageKit.

PS. Previously mentioned similar features are
the added errata-flags and update-details

I guess it depends on who's writing the code. I'd like to see the new features go into smartpm and then the backend
stays simple just because I don't currently use PackageKit.

Grant McWilliams
