I've coded a little patch to add the suggested command. Anyone willing to test?
It works fine for me...
# smart clean --help
Usage: smart clean [options]
This command cleans the package cache. You can use it to
delete old unused files that were left behind because of
an incomplete transaction.
Options:
-h, --help Show this help message and exit
-y, --yes Do not ask for confirmation
-v, --verbose Show cleaned packages

assignedto: -> netmask
status: unread -> testing
