I still have the problem shown in msg87
Saving cache...  takes over one hour!
I am using smart-0.41-7, built by cthirl for suse 10.1 beta
The problems does not disappear when removing all mirrors and using only one source.
CPU usage is low, memory over 300 MB (I have 256 + swap)
