If you send me
strace -f -o /tmp/xxx rpm --rebuilddb -vv
output (presumably "without success" means rpm --rebuilddb is
segfaulting too), I'll take a look.
Offhand, a segfault with lots of mmap calls smells like shared
libraray loading, but I don't have enough context to guess.
