Hi Jeff,

I tried rpm --rebuilddb 2 minutes before reading your mail :-) - without
success :-(. "rpm -qa -vv" does not segfault.

"apt update" segfaults as well as "smart update.".

The last lines of strace smart update:

mmap(NULL, 184320, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, MAP_PRIVATE|MAP_ANONYMOUS, -1, 0)
= 0x2aaab8e66000
munmap(0x2aaab8e66000, 184320) = 0
mmap(NULL, 385024, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, MAP_PRIVATE|MAP_ANONYMOUS, -1, 0)

munmap(0x2aaab8e66000, 385024) = 0
mmap(NULL, 491520, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, MAP_PRIVATE|MAP_ANONYMOUS, -1, 0)

munmap(0x2aaab8e66000, 491520) = 0
mmap(NULL, 200704, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE, MAP_PRIVATE|MAP_ANONYMOUS, -1, 0)

munmap(0x2aaab8e66000, 200704) = 0
brk(0x1e5a0000) = 0x1e5a0000
brk(0x1e57f000) = 0x1e57f000

+++ killed by SIGSEGV +++

Hm, I see no hint. Dozens of mmap and munmap above, with some brks in
between. What do I have to look for?

Regards,
Werner
