SUSE dropped support for 9.1, not yet for 9.2.

9.2 EOL is around October 31st 2006:

Nevertheless, it's difficult to fix potential smart issues on 9.2:
almost no one has that version installed (I only have it in a build
chroot), it uses python 2.3 (whereas SUSE >= 9.3 use python 2.4), GTK+
2.4.9 and PyGTK 2.2.0 (which is really old now).

In theory it should work though, smart requires python 2.3 AFAIK.
