I have thought about this many times. To upgrade or not to upgrade. The
rapid developement of Suse Linux makes it difficult to stay fresh. I noticed
that only a few new packages were finding their way into the Suse 9.2 repository.
I like to run a Vanilla kernel - so keeping that up to date is not a
problem. But software is becoming outdated. My 9.2 system has been good. I
have been reluctant to part with it. I thought smart may help me keep my
system going, but it is a new product and still evolving. Even
Suse 10.0 will become obsolete in time, so we badly need tools to ease the
upgrade of our systems. In the past upgrade meant reinstall. Is this still
the case ? Does Debian have a better model ?
