Calm down guys.. let's try to get productive here and fix
whatever isn't working.

Daniel, the 'rpm' module is only needed if you want to use rpm
support on your debian system as well.  It's definitely not
required for general use.

If it's being requested by Smart, it means that there's a rpm
channel set up. If you're finding this dependency strange, it most
probably means that this channel was erroneously setup
automatically for you.

Try to edit your channels with

  smart channel --edit

and have a look at what channels you have.  Try to disable any
rpm related channels by including a "disabled = yes" statement in
the respective channel.

Please also inform us of how it went so that we can try to
understand how it got there.
