smart and slackware and rpm-python

Hallo,

I try to use "smart" (smart 0.52) under slackware.

Something seems to work ...

Now I have copied a channel file (SuSE repo) to another and then changed  
the lines to another repo (which is reachable via FTP).

When I start "smart --shell" it first tells me it has detected this new  
channel. When I allow to include it smart mourns

error: While using/etc/smart/channels/xyz.channel: 'rpm' python module  
is not available

        python --version

reports "Python 2.5.1"

What is wrong?
