no support for gtk python interface

I now have the "smart --gui", no support for gtk python interface
problem.

openSUSE 10.1 x86_64

smart-0.52-29.1
smart-gui-0.52-29.1

python-gtk-2.8.2-21

no other x86_64 "python-gtk" package is available.  There was a 2.12.0
package at GNOME:/STABLE, reported by webpin, but it is not there??

note that smart was updated via smart w/o complaint and reinstallation
of the previous version did not help.
